Is your vehicle 5 years or older and needing registration renewal? You'll need a Pink Slip - e-Safety Check to be performed by an Authorised Safety Check Inspection Station (ASCIS). Light Vehicle Safety Check Inspections must be carried out on a range of light vehicles and a report (aka a pink slip) be issued before registration renewal is possible, usually as directed by the registration renewal certificate. Frenchs Forest Motors are an Authorised Safety Check Inspection Station (ASCIS) in Forestville and can undertake eSafety check inspections and issue RMS Pink Slips which will allow you to re-register your vehicle. All our work is covered by the Repco Authorised nationwide warranty Australia wide.
Roadworthy certificates in NSW used to be called pink slips because that's what colour paper they were printed on - since July 2008 drivers in New South Wales can now get E-safety checks - there is no paper colour anymore because the Authorised Inspection Station is able to submit the vehicles ‘roadworthiness' certificate electronically straight to the transport authority, which means no more waiting in line with your pink slip at the RTA office to register your car.
Blue slip inspections (vehicle ID check)
Do you own a light vehicle that is unregistered or registered in another state? You'll need to have a Blue Slip Inspection carried out by an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Station (AUVIS). Click the title for more info.
Vehicles not currently registered in NSW require an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection (or blue slip) before being registered and driven in New South Wales. Blue slip inspections can only be conducted by Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Stations (AUVIS).
You are notified if your vehicle needs a safety inspection on your registration renewal notice. A safety inspection is required in NSW if the vehicle is more than five years old or if it was previously registered in another state or territory. There are different types of inspections according to vehicle weights or if it is powered by LPG.
NOTE: Only stations authorised by the RTA are able to perform vehicle safety and registration inspections. Make sure you know your repairer is authorised.
